How to increase the alphanumeric or numeric keypad size

The Movicon run-time engine has built-in alphanumeric and numeric keypads that can be used to change values of tags/variables or provide login credentials by a user.

The keypads are automatically sized according to the Operating System and should work under most circumstances.  Occasionally when the resolution of a monitor is very high or Movicon can not detect the parameters necessary to properly size the keypads it may be necessary to set the size manually.  This allows the designer the flexibility to override the system defaults.

This can be done by adding a couple simple Keys to the Windows registry and adjusting the values until the desired behavior is reached.

First open the Windows Registry Editor, press the Windows (Start) button and type "regedit" into the search field. The "regedit" icon should appear, click on it to open the Editor.

With the editor open, navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder and open to expose the sub-folders...

Until reaching the Key location - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Progea Automation 11.#\MOVICON\General

Right click in the white space where the keys are located and select New>DWORD (32-bit) Value)

Type DWORD named;

NumericPadFontSize
AlphaNumericPadFontSize

After creating the Key, double click on it to adjust its value, the defaults are listed in the image above. Adjusting the value greater than the default will increase the Keypad size during run-time.

You can find more information about registry keys that Movicon uses in the Help document;
